Interest

I have NCD of India Infoline N4 Series purchased at Rs. 924/- before 3 months. Now, the current price is above Rs. 1000/-. Shall I sell these NCD and Book profit or shall I hold?

ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THAT WHETHER I WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR INTEREST ALSO ALONG WITH CAPITAL GAIN IF I SELL THE NCD NOW? THE RATE OF INTEREST ON THE SAME IS 11.90%.

ALSO PLEASE SUGGEST OTHER GOOD NCDS TO INVEST IN AS PER CURRENT MARKET CONDITIONS.

THANKING YOU,

CA. SUJAL MEHTA

Taxability on shares and commodities

Dear Experts,

My client is a salaried employee and he is trading in shares and commodities, as he dealing with these for speculation, I considered it under PGBP.
He has profit from Shares trading (Short term) and loss from commodities trading (short term, now my doubt is can I treat theses two tradings as one business or need to consider them as separate businesses and opt for set off?

If shares of listed company are transferred in physical form

Child + Parent (Joint Holding)

to

Parend (Single Holding)

(i) Whether it is compulsory to transfer funds equivalent to transfer value from child's bank account to parent's account?

(ii) What are the tax implications?

Hedging on foreign exchange

Sir,
My doubt is regarding hedging of exporters by using options as hedging instruments launched by NSE.

Suppose an exporter has delivered goods $10,00,000 on 1st august 2012 where the $ is at 55.00.
he would likely to receive the payment after 2 months i.e., on Oct 1st.

Where the dollar movement is un predictable, if the exporter tend to go for option(i.e.,) Put option, his obligation is Premium.

say
$10,00,000 @ 55.00 = Rs. 5,50,00,000/-

Can u plz explain me the hedging mechanisam in options, and any other strategy for hedging purpose.

for MSME's paying of premium is difficult because it hurts their working capital, is there any option model where there will be no premium payout (ex:- butterfull option, or straddles)

Sir, exactly my query is, Is there any model for hedging in options which cannot have any premium payout, which would beneficial to MSMES.

Thanks & Regards,
G.Prasanna Kumar.
