My mother was holding equity shares of a public ltd co., but we do not have physical shares with us. My mother expired 2 yrs back and now for transmission of shares in my name, co. is asking for physical shares, please advise how can I get the shares transmitted in my name?

First of all she had a DP account of own or not & Contrcat Note of Share purchased. If you have the information of Broker where she was registered than you will get the information from there like 3rd party in case of death. If you are nominated by her than it's easy to transfer by providing the required documents.

Thank you Mr Chandan Singh for your reply. In fact my father was promoter director of a public ltd (not listed) co., On my father's death, equity shares were tranmitted to my mother's name. However, we never had physical shares with us (I don't know if co. had ever issued or not). My mother also expired 2 years back and equity shares are still on her name. Co is asking for probate and physical certificates for transmission to my name. I can get the probate of will from court, but how can I get physical shares? kindly advise...
