A PP Fabric Manufacturing Company has taken an adjacent land on lease, and has taken permission to construct factory building on it. My query is whether cenvat credit is available on the raw materials for the construction of the factory building. for eg: iron rods etc. the new construction is not a new factory. It is the extension of the old factory.

No cenvat credit available for such extention of building. It is available for modernization, repairs and renovation. No cenvat credit available for raw materials used in construction.
