Trust not registered under section 12a

some confusion regarding Trust.

A Trust Form On 05/03/2012. Trustee Registered Trust under Trust Act of state.
There is a college under a trust from last 2 year.
But Trust was not registered under section 12A of Income Tax Act till now.
Trust Should assessed as AOP for 2012-13 and 2013-14 F.Y.

Now I want to apply for Section 12A Registrtion.
Can I apply.
