TDS on service tax

Hi all,
I have a doubt that if there is service tax charged on invoice, on which amount TDS is to be deducted; Including service tax amount or excluding service tax???? because I've read only about rent that "no TDS on service tax".
Pls suggest, waiting for replies...

Your understanding is correct ie., except for rent deduct TDS at the gross amount of the bill.

Except on rental payment, TDS is applicable on the gross value (including TDS)
