My bank has shown that i have to pay Rs 40 as tax to IT deptt where as they have not deducted single pie from my salary. Please clarify whether i have to pay Rs 40 to IT deptt

As per your employer's calculation, based on your salary, you are liable to pay Rs. 40/- towards Income tax. Your employer would have deducted tax from your salary which they have not done. Ask them to give you form 16 and on its strength you may Pay Rs.40/- to the income tax department, by using ITNS 280 challan, and file your income tax return in ITR-1 form.
