A person has taken a loan (in India) for his daughter's education and he is repaying the loan with interest now. She is pursuing engineering from abroad. Can the father claim deduction U/s 80E for interest?

Yes the father can claim deduction u/s 80E for the loan interest from 01/4/2007 onwards provided the loan is taken from any financial institution including bank or any approved charitable institution.
