I have a frnd who is develops software for US firm. he gets all revenue in current A/c.
Can we file return under Sec 44AD? Does 44AD covers this profession or business ...

Whether he does the software development alone or by engaging some people and hiring an office. First category will fall under 44ADA second category will fall under 44AD.
