Assessee have filled online return of income, but have not signed the return and sent to Banglore even after expiry of 120 days? Is the return valid?

In AY 2008-09 the assessee was having the option of (1) either filing return on line and submit the copy of ITR V to IT Department duly signed by him or (2) File physical return. The assessee filed the return physically to IT Department & than submitted online return ignorantly, but as the error was traced ITR V was not submitted to nullify the online return. Is the valid treatment.
