Portfolio Management is not and cannot be done only with Technical Analysis.
There is no 'recognised' course for Technical Analysis, on the basis of which you could get an 'entry employment' as a Technical Analyst.
As a Technical Analyst, you will have to 'unlearn' all that you have learnt in CA. You will have to put away your CA knowledge and experience in 'another compartment' of your mind, and use purely Technical Analysis tools.
The best thing for you would be to do a full time MBA from a premier institute and get placed from campus as an Equity Analyst. Recruiters of Equity Analysts will ignore you if you talk to them only about Technical Analysis.
Once you are into this field of Equity Analysis, then you may demonstrate your 'home learned' knowledge of Technical Analysis too. But, the mainstay of Portfolio Management is not technical Analysis.
To learn Technical Analysis, for starters, read W D GANN, old newsletters of G R MANSUKHANI, ROBERT D EDWARD & JOHN MAGEE, JOHN MURPHY, ELLIOT WAVE THEORY.
The Mutual Fund industry is the main employer. There is no market for independent equity analysis firms or consultancies.
If you have a premier MBA, then your start salary in Equity Analysis will be definitely more than 10L.

Sir Thanks for the rely. helpful. I've decided to wait for the results and if & when I pass, I'll get a job preferably in the field of investment managements.. I'll take it from there and do the now famous Chartered Market Technician course (CMT) of US and later on, if feasible, start trading full time which is my long term goal.. good enough?
