30 September 2013 Generally, pension comes under 'income from salary'. Please refer section 17 (1)(ii) of the Income tax Act,1961.

But,in the case of 'family pension' it has to be offered under 'income from other sources' subject to deduction u/s 57(iia) of the said act.
