Pan for proprietorship firm

09 July 2018 Dear experts, one of the client is doing the business as proprietorship, the PAN is allotted to him in his name. But some department is asking for PAN in the name of proprietorship firm, which is not possible.
Is there any notification to clarify the above?
pl give me the same
