26 June 2014 Dear Expert

Assessee is Central Government Employee and staying in own house, working in same city. He is having Housing Loan ( House purchase )
He received HRA.

my question is he is eligible to claim exemption of HRA? or claim only Housing Loan Interest and Principal?

05 July 2014 He cannot claim exemption of HRA as he is living in his own house.
He can claim Housing loan interest as negative income from house property and principal repayment under section 80 C.
