13 August 2010 Hi frnds, plz suggest me whether the Fabrication job work done on the behalf of client is taxable under the Service tax or not.
although i m not registered with Excise Department as i m availing the basic exemption limit of Rs 150 lakhs.
So whether i m liable for service tax or not & what should i do if the contracting company is asking me for taking service tax registration so that they can avail cenvat credit.

14 August 2010 As you told that you are not registered in excise Department since you are availing exemption limit of 150 lacs that means your are doing manufacturing activity, so you are not be registered under service tax.
