Do I need to pay taxes on uber one credits or Best Buy reward certificate?

This query is : Resolved

04 January 2025 I was in USA, now returned back to India. I am going to be a resident in India.
I have two questions -
1. I had uber one subscription and I used to get some uber credit for each ride which has a expiry and is available to use in the next ride. Is thisis taxable income and do I need to show in FSI/FA?
2. I received a reward certificate from best buy as promotion which is usable in the next purchase with an expiry. I did not use it. Is this taxable income and do I need to show in FSI/FA?

05 January 2025 1. Yes taxable. Yes, need to declare in ITR.
2. If not used, no need of declaration, nor taxable.

05 January 2025 Thank you sir. For the uber credits, It cannot be encashed and is only available in the uber app as uber cash. It also gets expired. Still it is taxable?

06 January 2025 If you encash it it will be taxable, not otherwise.

06 January 2025 Thank you sir. It cannot be encashed. It is only available in the app and can only be used in uber rides. So will it be taxable?

06 January 2025 No, unless utilized. No, if it lapses.
