I have received a message from a client that the "Transaction of Rs.12,610 against CRN xxxxxx is on hold since there is no response from the bank. You cannot initiate another transaction against this CRN for the time being. If the amount is debited from your account kindly check with your bank." I have raised challan twice and deleted the first challan as the client could not be able to assist in making the payment. The second challan was done successfully. Please guide me what to do as he is asking about this status.

No sir, self-assessment tax of Rs.12,610/- was paid only once. Prior to that Rs.2400 was deducted as TDS. Issue arose only with the self-assessment tax of Rs.12,610/- paid on 21st June 2023 through the means of UPI.

I raised a ticket with the SBI that amount was deducted through UPI mode and the payment is not acknowledged by the Income Tax Department. They investigated the ticket and said that the payment was credited to the department on the same date of making the payment. What is the course of action to be taken now?

If the bank confirms the payment transaction is successful, you enter the challan details in ITR and file it. It will get reflected in the system automatically.... But when? Can't say. Hope it gets credited before processing of the ITR.

I filed the ITR using online mode and verified the return as well, the client agreed to pay the tax later due to his personal issues. Intimation has been made by the department as Demand notice w.r.t. the Self-Assessment Tax that was paid through UPI mode. And I have discussed this issue above sir. Am I required to insist the client in sending a letter to the Jurisdictional AO citing the payment of tax along with the challan receipt.
