Articleship with B.Com as Private category Student

This query is : Resolved

07 September 2022 I read that one cannot do CA articleship with Graduation as regular student from long distance. But, CAN A PRIVATE CATEGORY STUDENT IN B.COM DO HIS CA ARTICLESHIP? If yes, is there any rule that there should be some minimum distance between the college and the CA firm?

08 September 2022 you can not do anything, without informing the institute, in the period of articleship

form 112 is the process of informing the institute about the additional engagement

form 112 is for the regulation 65 and regulation 78

No such minimum distance requirement, but should be in the same city.
See the reply which will clear your doubts.
Yes, you can pursue B.Com. along with CA by submitting for no. 112 in the institute.

But then the problem is, In form no. 112 you have to state the timings of the college which do not interfere with the articleship timings.

So, you will have to write 7AM-10AM as your college timing and 11AM- 6PM as your articleship timing which proves that you are attending both , college and articleship.

Since your question is that you are doing Articleship in Bengaluru and Bcom in a U.P. college it would be impossible for you to prove that you are attending both.

So, In your case I would say No. You cannot pursue Bcom from U.P. college regularly while doing articleship in Bengaluru.

Here are your options so that you can do Bcom and articleship both:-

Do articleship and Bcom both in U.P. (Same city)
Do articleship and Bcom in Bengaluru.
Do articleship and do the Bcom from correspondance.
I know , many people are saying yes but they don’t really got into the logic. Form 112 specifically states the timings for both the courses so that ICAI gets to know that college timings are not interfering with articleship timings and vice-versa.
