26 April 2016 No excise duty payable on works contract unless it is a manufacturing activity. Only service tax applicable on works contract.

29 April 2016 work contract is not liable to excise duty, its service tax as tell by mr seetharaman.
if you are mfg. goods then you have to take excise number and pay exise.
