I would like to know Can Karta of HUF do trading in shares i.e. Speculation gain or loss in Shares.

12 July 2010 Yes, he can do these trading but he does so in his individual capacity then profit/loss will be taxable in his hands.

and if he does so on behalf of HUF then profit/loss will be taxable in the hands of HUF.
