Notice u/s 143(2)of I T Act is required to be served within 12 months from the date of submission of return to get it scrutinised u/s 143(3).
One of my client has filed E return and after filling the return he posted the ITR V within stipulated time .
Which date should be considered for submission of return.

The 12 months period has been reduced to six months from the end of the financial year in which the return is furnished by the Finance Act,2008 w.e.f 1/4/2008. In view of that the return filed dates mentioned above has only limited relevance.
