What are the information to be engraved on the common seal of the company? Will the name of the company alone serves the purpose or the place/date of incorporation should also be engraved?

The common seal should have the company's name engraven in legible characters. The said seal may consist of the words'corporate seal', the place of the company and the date of incorporation. Since section 147(1)(b) provides that the name may be engraven, it appears that the seal should be made of metal. However it can be in any form and shape.
