Can anydody tell me, is there any change in service tax registration number in case of change of name of the organisation, remaining things are unchanged like nature of business, management & address as well.

Name change leads to the requirement of new PAN. Therefore, new ST registration is required because ST registration number is linked to the PAN.
In case, change of name of the company does not change area of business, then it is required to comply the requirement of updation of name with different authorities including service tax.
But in case, change of name, also change the area of business then in that case you also comply the provision of area in which the new business is commence.

The PAN no of the company will not change, as there is only change in the name of the company, other things remaining things will be unchanged.
Further the service tax number will not change accordingly & is confirmed with the Supd. office of S. Tax also. Just need to update the changes online & submit the rectification along with supportings to Supd. office of S. Tax.

Agree with Rakesh, as practically I also confirmed similar issue with department , range superintendent level, got the same reply. Technically Warrier Sir and Ajay ji seems to correct.
