Challan paid in wrong head

23 September 2015 i want to know how to correct challan paid in wrong head, challan of demand of 7000 rs paid in (300)SELF ASSESSMENT TAX,

actually needs to be paid in (400)TAX ON REGULAR ASSESSMENT.

23 September 2015 There is no problem your tax payment will be considered against the demand.

23 September 2015 Dont worry there will not be any issue. You have deposited the tax demanded. No need for any correction is challan. It will be better if you can just intimate the department regarding this through a letter along with copy of the challan.
