is books excise is mandatory as register e.g R.G.23A part-2 as excise rules is it possible to maintain this record in excel sheet and no signature is made on pages by athourized person. kindly give suggestion

Dear Lalit, As per excise, there are no prescribed books or registers to be maintained. Usually, we follow RG23A Part-2 format as it is simple and contains all the records required by excise dept. You can definitely maintain this record in excel sheet on monthly basis. For authentication, you can take a printout at the end of the month and take an authotised person's signature and keep it in your records. Ensure that this tallies with your monthly excise returns.
