How to calculate amount of service tax on advance recieved whether it should be calculated on inclusive or exclusive method

Take it as inclusive so that you are benefited while paying service tax on it.

but can we pay by exclusive method if we intend to do so?

Yes you can do it but you have to pay service tax initially and collect it later.
