dear rajiv, in your question it is nor clear what are the work which the contractor gets contract. first off all the contract work are not under the purveiw of service tax criteria. second if any abatemement is need to be availed or not. third whether the contractor work comes under both exempted or taxable service category. in all the casess GTA must be there. so whether the contractor is a firm or individual. thanks
