28 December 2011 Dear sir,

I am working in contraction company and company is registered under service tax for providing works contract service.

At present , we are collecting 4.12 % service tax on Gross bill.

My query is :

whether i can take CENVAT Credit for input service. if yes kindly guide me and send notification or circular.

11 January 2012 Yes, as per circular no.96/7/2007 dated 23.08.2007, under works contract(composition scheme - 4.12%), a service provider can avail cerdit on input services and also on capital goods but he is not entitled to cenvat credit on inputs (097.01/23.08.07)
