You can write the question number in the margin, where it becomes easier for the examiner to identify for which question you are writing the answer. It is important on the part of every candidate to write the question number in a very clear and legible manner, so that the examiner finds it easy to evaluate and award marks for each answers which you have written.
Some candidates prefer to write the question number above the answer by stating - "Answer to Question No. 2a" and underline them. This is one of the better ways to present your paper as the examiner would be comfortable in identifying the question for which you have written the answer. Please bear in mind, that the answers which you are writing in the exam is to impress the examiner, so that you are rewarded good marks for your efforts. The test of your knowledge is reflected in the answer paper which you attempt, so write the question numbers clearly in a conspicuous place in the answer book let.
