I got a message from nsdl.co.in for auto registration for 26AS in order to view my details of my tax credit in their database. I wanted to know what is 26AS and what is tax credit. This is 2nd reminder so kindly let me know

TIN facilitates a PAN holder to view its Annual Tax Statement (Form 26AS) online. Form 26AS contains
* Details of tax deducted on behalf of the taxpayer by deductors * Details of tax collected on behalf of the taxpayer by collectors * Advance tax/self assessment tax/regular assessment tax, etc. deposited by the taxpayers (PAN holders)
