What is considered for allowing deduction of pf & esi pymt?

18 April 2012 My query is relating to deduction allowed for payment of ESI & PF.

Whether the date at which Cheque & challan deposited to the treasury bank or the clearing date of cheque will be considered?

What if the challan is paid in CASH.

Please help me out solving query.

18 April 2012 Date of deposit will be considered provided the cheque cleared within 3 days.
