vat and service tax credit

10 August 2009 can any one tell me that we can take the input vat credit on all items or not
and can we take service tax credit on all services or not

10 August 2009 Input Vat credit can not be taken on all items. Input Vat Credit on items used in building construction, furniture & fixtures and other non productive assets, which do not have direct relation in production/end product can not be taken. The same principle is also applicable on service tax cenvat credit.
