Yes, **IGNOU’s B.Com (A\&F)** program (Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting & Finance), which is offered **in collaboration with ICAI for CA students**, is **valid for CAT (Common Admission Test)** and **other MBA entrance exams**, provided the following conditions are met:
---
### ✅ **Eligibility for CAT Exam**:
As per **CAT eligibility criteria** (as of recent updates, and subject to IIMs' official notifications):
* You must hold a **Bachelor’s Degree** with at least **50% marks** (45% for SC/ST/PwD). * The degree must be **awarded by a recognized university** or an institution **recognized by the UGC/AICTE** or equivalent authority.
---
### 🏛️ **Is IGNOU Recognized?**
* Yes, **IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University)** is a **UGC-recognized Central University**. * Degrees awarded by IGNOU are **recognized for all competitive exams**, including **CAT**, **UPSC**, **SSC**, etc.
---
### 🔎 About the B.Com (A\&F) Program:
* This program is specially designed for **CA students** in collaboration with **ICAI**. * You can **enroll after registering for IPCC** and will be granted credit for certain subjects based on your CA performance. * The **degree is awarded by IGNOU**, not ICAI.
---
### ⚠️ Important Notes:
* **CAT/IIMs do not differentiate** between regular, distance, or open university degrees **as long as the university is recognized**. * You must ensure that **you get at least 50% marks (aggregate)** in your B.Com (A\&F) for CAT eligibility.
---
### ✅ Conclusion:
> **Yes, IGNOU B.Com (A\&F) is valid for CAT.** > Just make sure:
* You complete the degree with the required percentage. * You retain proper documentation from IGNOU.
