20 February 2013 Whether profession tax is applicable in U.P. if not then can you provide me govt. circular/notification regarding the same.

20 February 2013 Profession tax, or tax on employment, is levied by a state under article 276 of the Constitution. It is deducted from the salary every month. The amount paid, as Profession Tax, is however exempted while calculating the taxable income of the employee.

at present there are no PT IN THIS STATE.
