Sir , I received a email from INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT STATING THAT MY RETURN FOR THE A.Y 2013-14 HAS BEEN DECLARED INVALID U\S 139(9), ERROR CODE 38. PLEASE HELP ME WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW ?

The defect has to be rectified and you have to upload the rectified return by selecting the option of Return U/s 139(9).

it seems you have filed the return without paying the full tax liability. So kindly pay the remaining tax and refile the rectified return with complete tax payment details.
