Executive directors means who is working for the company on a day to day basis and is having substanital interest in the company.

Non-executive director means who is not working in the company in any manner but is having substantial interest in the company.

Independent director means who is a director of a company and neither involve in day to day affairs nor invested any money in the company.

Number of directors has to be decided as per articles of association of a particular company.
