22 September 2011 is capital gain is taxed under slab rates or each under different fixed percentage?

23 September 2011 The Tax Rate depends on the type of Capital Gain that you earned.

The tax rates will be different based on short term capital gain and long term capital gain that you earned.

24 September 2011 Long Term Capital Gain are taxed at Fixed rate of 20% Short term is taxed on slab rate as short term is to be treated as business income.

In addition 3% on tax EC is also payable
