Termination of articleship in 3rd year due to medical reason

I have completed my 2 1/2 years of article ship and i have gone on leave for more than 3 months due to medical reasons . So can i take Transfer from my principal and join other firm. suggest me the procedure.

26 November 2013 1. Medical grounds requiring discontinuance of articles for a minimum period of three months (on production of a Medical Certificate issued by a Government Hospital).

The request, on any one or more of the aforesaid grounds, of an articled assistant on a plain paper alongwith the recommendation/ consent of the Principal for transfer / termination of articleship accompanied by evidence/proof (self-attested by the articled assistant) to the satisfaction of the Institute be made. Request for transfer not accompanied by consent of Principal shall not be accepted.

In case of dispute between principal and articled assistant, the matter be settled amicably among the articled assistant and the principal concerned and the Institute shall not interfere in such cases.

26 November 2013 If you have medical certificate of minimum 3 months then you can take transfer on medical ground otherwise the Institute will not entertain your transfer.

26 November 2013 what would be the time required for getting consent from institute.and can i join articleship in any other firm

26 November 2013 Just submit relevant documents for termination & get in touch with I.C.A.I & there will be no such time limit.

27 November 2013 It will depend on Institute that how much time they will take. I will suggest you to regularly follow up with institute on it.

Yes, you can join article ship with other principal for the rest of period of article ship.
