10 May 2011 As I have filed return in the asst year 2007-08 in which Refund comes to Rs 37000/- by claming tds certificate Now Department has issued only 1040/- by way of refund what is the procedure to get back refund of Rs 35960/- As i am having Tds certificate photo copy

10 May 2011 Just see the detailed tax calculation made by you in your ITR & the same made by IT deptt in your assessment order.

Only after looking those two docs, one can really say, how this big difference has come.

If you are satisfied that your refund claim is appx 37000/-, then you must write to your AO regarding the same.

10 May 2011 Get the print out of Form 26AS from NSDL site. Chk out the amt mentioned therein and give a visit to the ward officer with a Request letter to ITO, Acknowledgement of return filed, Form 26AS, and the original TDS certificates. Rest he will guide you.
