Tds on salary (senior citizen)

Dear Sir,
One man become senior citizen in Oct 2011
His salary is Rs.1,20,000/-per month .
Then how we calculate the TDS for that employee for 2011-2012.
ie.
in one slab as applied to senior citizen
or in two slab (up to OCT one slab & other is from OCT to March )
