Tds on rent

06 April 2014 as tenant is same and landlord is same but on two different premises , is tds applicable if limit of 180000 crosses on both premises rent collectively

08 April 2014 If the Payee is not a Individial or a HUF then yes, definitely TDS needs to be deducted by Payee.. As the word "Any Income" in the section 194I Suggests..

Section 194I- Any person, not being an individual or a Hindu undivided family, who is responsible for paying to a resident any income by way of rent, shall, at the time of credit of such income to the account of the payee or at the time of payment thereof in cash or by the issue of a cheque or draft or by any other mode, whichever is earlier, 45[deduct income-tax thereon at the rate of—
