Tds on paymentd to gov & gov departments

18 December 2012 Dear Experts,

Is TDS provisions would applicable on payments made to Gov/Gov deparments.

For example we are making payment now to BBMP( Bangalore Dev Authority wing) towards charges for permiting putting singe boards accross the banglore.

Please advise.
