I HAVE TO PAY SOME LAKHS TOWARDS SERVICE CHARGES (AMC) TO FOREIGN CO. AT GERMANY.PLEASE LET US KNOW THE RATE OF TDS AND UNDER WHICH SECTION. CONTRACT WAS EXECUTED IN 2004 AND FOR A LONG TERM

You have to apply indo german treaty and the rates applicable either in domestic law or DTAA,whichever is more beneficial to the assessee,irrespective of te fact whether the contract is for long term or short term.
