TDS ON FOLDING TENT HIRE CHGS

07 August 2010 we were hiring folding tent for the year 2009-10 and deducting TDS at 11.33% under the category Plant, Machinery & Equipment. Is this correct as the auditor is telling we had to take under Tds on REnt other than Plant & machinery at 15.45%. Please clarify and tell us what rate this has to be taken for 2010-11.

1. Use of Machinery, Plant or Equipment: 2%

2. Use of any land or building including factory building or land appurtenant to a building including factory building or furniture or fittings :10%

The above will be falling under 1 being an equipment.

07 August 2010 w.e.f 1/10/2009, TDS rates for hiring of Plant / Mach or equipment has come down to 2 %.

So in your case this 2 % will apply
