why there is no tds on purchase of capital equipment

TDS is not applicable on any purchases..be it capital or non-capital...
the logic behind this appears to be that no-straight % can be applied to goods sales as profit. further govt is already levying so many taxes on sales of goods that one more tax might simply force manufacturers to go out of business..

because on sale already state are charging vat.
