Tds on audit fees

10 October 2011 A society is running 6 schools. A auditor charging the audit fees for Rs.7000 from each school and Rs.15000 for Society.

Please tell me that schools are liable for TDS deduction or not?

There are not separate Balance Sheet for schools. There is only one consolidated Balance Sheet for Schools and society.

10 October 2011 As you are saying the there are no seperate balance sheets for schools, i am assuming that the PAN number is also of the society only and not for every school differently. If this is the case then you are liable to deduct TDS.
