this is sreenath from bangalore i have some doubt on tds. we are taken a building for rent the rent Comprises of 2 Elements 1) rent another one is Maintenance Amount Can we deduct the TDS Only on rent Or Both Please Clarify Very Urgently

In my view, the other amount is also in the nature of rent, though the nomenclature is kept as maintenance expenses. Hence, TDS should be deducted on both the amounts.
