13 May 2012 Sir,

a company has deducted TDS on interest paid during the fY 11-12 but not paid the TDS to government. as tds return is filed quaterly

so plzz tell that separate challan for each quarter will be made as for interest calculations?
or TDS including interest for the whole year can be paid in one challan?

13 May 2012 It has been clarified by the department officials that a single challan may be referred in the returns of 2 or more different quarters.
.
As the TDS deducted in a particular quarter has to be reported in the relevant quarter only, in my view, it is better to prepare quarterly challans with respective quarter's late payment interest amount. Reporting will be easier.
.

13 May 2012 Pay TDS along with interest for each month separately and file Quarterly Returns. Use differnent challans for each month, Agreed with Mr. Paras
