if a person is paying house rent of rs30000 per month then whether he is required to deduct tds. plz keep in mind that house rent is for personal purpose.

in the case of individual and HUF provision of sec 194I is applicable if
huf and individual who's sales is exceed limit specified in section 44AB(tax audit)(40 lacs for business 10lac for professionals)during the financial year immediately preceding the financial year

Deduct TDS u/s 194I if the person making the rent payment is subject to Tax Audit u/s 44AB.
If the payer is not subject to tax audit then he cannot deduct TDS whatsoever under any section.
If the payer is not subject to tax audit then he cannot deduct TDS whatsoever under any section.
