23 September 2009 IS TDS LIABLE WHEN PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL FEES, WITHOUT SERVICE TAX DOES NOT EXCEEDS RS 20,000, BUT EXCEEDS RS 20,000 WHEN SERVICE TAX IS ADDED TO IT?

23 September 2009 Sir,

The service tax element has to be included to consider the threshhold limit for TDS u/s. 194J.

The said section speaks of amt credited / paid. The service tax amt is naturally credited to the party's account.
