Tds

This query is : Resolved

21 January 2014 Sir,

I made two payments to my vendor. In first payment i deducted the TDS and paid and in my second payment i did not deduct the TDS. My query is the total amount to the vendor is not reached the Threshold limit. Please give me solution whether it is mandatory to pay the TDS for the whole amount even it is not reached the threshold limit or it is ok, how much we have deducted and paid.

Regards,
Bala

21 January 2014 Hi

If you dont cross thresh hold limit TDS is not to be deducted.

Thx

21 January 2014 Thanks for your reply, Please understand my query, i deducted the TDS for the first payment. The second time payment i did not deduct the TDS for the same party. The total of 2 payments didnot cross the threshold limit. Is there any rules, if we deduct the TDS in the first time payment then we have to deduct the succeeding payments even the total amount not reaching the threshold limit.

Regards,
Bala

21 January 2014 Hi

Since your total payment did not crossed thresh hold limit, you are not required to deduct TDS even though by mistake you deducted TDS in 1st instant.

So there is no such rule too deduct TDS wrongly if you deduct it by mistake in 1st instance.

Thx

21 January 2014 Thank you very much sir.
